Tourists take photos of Hawke's Bay scenery from the Viewing Platform on Marine Parade, Napier, just above a pile of sleeping gear, clothing, shoes and lots of condoms which belong to a homeless person.

Down the first straight - Participation and the promotion of healthy lifestyles were the aim of the game at the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Tryathlon at Frimley Park in Hastings.
L-R: Penny Williams, Havelock North, Craig Foss, National MP, Tukituki - Tremains Hastings Hamper Auction, a charity Art Deco event where tables of 8 diners bid for a hamper from a local cafe or restaurant, in the Hastings Mall in Hastings. Proceeds went to St John Ambulance.
