Living the Dream

"Thank you" changes atmosphere in Government:

A group of thirty 10-11yr olds from Bethel went to Washington DC to thank and bless those in US Congress (Government). Here's one days report from the group:

"We stopped outside each office and asked the Lord for a word for the member on Congress and how we should pray for them. These girls spent at least 5 minutes at each office in prayer, never rushing, always waiting on the Holy Spirit. They then walked into each office and handed out the Thank You cards they had prepared. On the front of the card there is a small stack of post it notes and on the back is an encouraging word. They signed each one personally. They handed one to each staff member and told them 'Thank you for serving our nation, we appreciate you and what you do' (or something similar).

People were moved to tears, some offices people were coming out of doors everywhere to see the children and meet them. One staff member turned her card over and read what was written on the back and said 'That is a good word for me!'. We were given business cards of congressional aides who told us to call if we needed anything while we were in DC. The children were given so much stuff from the offices, their back packs were loaded! Staff aides stopped me in the hall and asked 'Are you doing this are every office?', when I replied 'Yes', they said 'This is an incredible thing you are doing'.

They asked why the children were there and were left saying things like 'Wow!', when the children told them they had come to say 'Thank You'. People couldn't believe that children would come all the way from California just to thank them. There was a shift in the atmosphere in the House of Representative offices today!"
