Fire no match for foam
Hastings Fire Service, with several tankers and volunteer crews from Hastings District Council Rural Fire Force attended a scrub fire in a gully, surrounded by pine trees and recently-mown hay paddocks, Matapiro Rd, Crownthorpe, just down the road from the Crownthorpe Church.

Max Baker, a mate of the owner of the car, works to free the car - A car doing backward wheelies crashed into a tree on a small reserve in Ryan Crescent, Greenmeadows, Napier, in the early hours of the morning. People tried to free the car, using a chainsaw to destroy the tree. The driver was a friend of flatmates of Hawke's Bay Magpie Trent Boswell-Wakefield whose neighbours say his home in the street is known for its noise. Police attended.
